Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 993!

Boy Scout Troop 993 is part of the Sam Houston Area Council, Mustang District, in West Houston sponsored by Ashford United Methodist Church. Troop 993 is a boy-led troop that is mentored and supervised by adult volunteer leaders. Parents are a very integral part of our troop program. It is through their participation as ASMs and Troop Committee members that we can provide a safe, interesting and varied program. Boys ages 11 - 17 are invited to join our troop. We meet every Monday evening at 7:30 PM at the Scout building behind the Church located at 2201 S. Dairy Ashford Rd, between Westheimer & Whitington.

Eagle Project - Briac Jones, Aug 24, 9:30am-1:00pm

Posted on Aug 11 2019 - 9:39pm

The Westside High School Prairie needs benches for their outdoor nature classroom. This project will build 5 benches for the prairie. It is also my Eagle Scout project for troop 993 in Houston Texas. We will be starting the project in early August, and will finish by Aug. 24th, 2019. Since I go to Westside this nature area is important to me. Both Scouting and nature have been an important part of my life.  Thanks for in advance for your generous contributions.

Troop Activity: Planning Pizza Party, Aug 9 7:00pm-Aug 10 7:00am

Posted on Aug 4 2019 - 9:37pm

Every scout in the Troop should plan to attend. The Planning Pizza Party is the event where you have the opportunity to talk about your favorite outings and vote on which ones we will engage in over the next year. You should have at least 3 weekend outings and one summer camp option in mind and have information on hand to speak to your troop mates about your selections.

Summer Volunteers - THANK YOU!

Our scouts have a another wonderful summer!! They have had the opportunity to climb mountains at Philmont and earn various Merit Badges at BTSR Camp. None of these trips could be possible without our wonderful adult volunteers! If you have the opportunity to go to a summer camp, high adventure camp or weekend campout, it is a rewarding experiance to see your son learning to be an indepent young man.
